Musician Billy Corgan teams up with My Chemical Romance for a Smashing Pumpkins cover in Chicago concert
My Chemical Romance, the American rock band known for their hit albums like "The Black Parade," have announced the dates for their Long Live: The Black Parade tour in 2026. The tour will take them across various cities, including Boston, Tampa, Atlanta, Bogota, Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Incheon, Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and London.
One of the most anticipated performances of the tour was at Soldier Field in Chicago on August 29, 2020. During this show, the band paid tribute to another iconic American alternative rock band, The Smashing Pumpkins, by covering their hit song, "Bullet With Butterfly Wings."
"Bullet With Butterfly Wings" is a track from The Smashing Pumpkins' masterful third album, "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness," released in 1995. The song was the lead single from the album and became a staple of the band's discography.
Billy Corgan, the founder and frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins, joined My Chemical Romance for the cover. Corgan, a hometown hero, played guitar and shared vocal duties with My Chemical Romance's lead vocalist, Gerard Way. The performance was captured by fans, immortalising the unique collaboration.
My Chemical Romance will conclude the Long Live: The Black Parade tour with two shows at Wembley Stadium in London, UK, in 2026. Fans eagerly await these performances, hoping for more surprises and collaborations that pay homage to the rich history of rock music.
